The 2020 Mazda 3 is all about pure indulgence in luxury and entertainment and the joy of riding. That’s the reason why Mazda has added packages instead of limiting the offering to trim levels with fixed benefits. The base or barebones Mazda 3 comes replete with a 2.5L Skyactiv series 186 horsepower engine. You have the option to add the available i-ACTIV AWD system that gives some superb traction control when you begin to upgrade to one of the packages. The upgrades are divided into three packages – the Select, the Preferred and finally the Premium. These add more and more exotic features as you go along. Exterior Features
The base 2020 Mazda 3 sedan comes standard with certain features that are a marked only on luxury segment cars. You get LED headlights, auto on/off, LED daytime running lights and LED combination taillights out of the box. The matte finish front grille gives a contemporary look and unique styling. Rain-sensing intermittent variable windshield wipers are again standard and so are body colored, power folding side mirrors. As you upgrade to the Select you get more gloss finish on the grille and front lower bumpers. The Preferred adds memory positioning and turn indicators to the side mirrors and a shark fin antenna on the roof. If you are keen on a moonroof, you can go in for the highest upgrade, the Premium Package that gives you a Power sliding-glass moonroof with one-touch-open feature and interior sunshade as part of the exterior.
Interior Highlights
The spacious interiors of the Mazda 3 are crafted for luxury, appointed with high quality materials to give you a sense of elevation. The basic version gives you cloth trimmed sport seats and door insets, while the Select adds leatherette on the seats and leather wraps the steering and shift knob. The Premium package adds luxurious leather on the seats, an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat with memory and heated front seats. The Select package adds extra storage in the form of a Rear center armrest with cup holders. The Preferred onwards you get an additional overhead console with sunglasses holder. Other feature highlights we find are for enhanced comfort and convenience, where you get Cruise control with steering mounted controls out of the box, a remote keyless entry, push button start and a 12-volt power outlet. As you upgrade to the Select package, you go from simple air conditioning to a dual zone automatic climate control system and a Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry and Start System as part of the upgrade.
Technology Features
Basically, you are all set with the convenience of a, 8.8-inch large center display, AM/FM audio system with 8 speakers, a Bluetooth hands-free phone, audio streaming capability, the MAZDA CONNECT Infotainment System. However, if you desire Apple CarPlay or Android Auto capability, you will need to upgrade to the Select.
